The Bouvet Ladubay Contemporary Art Center is happy to present, from May 30th to November 1st 2026 an exhibition of photographs by Jean-Marie del Moral.

Photographed artists: Joan Mitchell / Claude Viallat / Pierre Alechinsky
For nearly 50 years, Jean Marie del Moral has been exploring the mental space of the studio – a place of experimentation and metamorphosis where the intimacy of the creative gesture is revealed – and, since his founding encounter with Joan Miró in 1978, he has continued to photograph painters and sculptors at work.
Spread across the eight rooms, the exhibition is organized into both monographic and thematic sections. It opens with seven large-format photographs of studio details, continues with a series of forty-six portraits, and then devotes the following rooms to emblematic studios.
The collection brings together painters and sculptors from several generations and movements, major figures in modern and contemporary art, from Joan Miró and Pierre Alechinsky to Antoni Tàpies, Pierre Soulages, Miquel Barceló, Monique Frydman, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Motherwell, Sam Francis, Julian Schnabel, Luc Tuymans, Alex Katz, Joan Mitchell, Zao Wou-Ki, Claude Viallat, François Morellet, Bernar Venet, Gérard Garouste, Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Robert Combas, Christian Sorg, and Gérard Titus-Carmel.
Twenty-three of them have been exhibited at the Bouvet Ladubay Contemporary Art Center over the past thirty years, highlighting the close link between this exhibition and the history of the Bouvet Ladubay Contemporary Art Center.
